YouTube Revenue Calculator

A view is not a paid view. This estimate multiplies only the views you say are monetized.

How to use

  1. Use views from a video you already understand, not a wish.
  2. Monetized percent is the share of views that actually played an ad. Many channels are well under 100%.
  3. CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 monetized views before the platform share. If you only know RPM, this split will not match Studio.
  4. Creator share is the percent you keep. Confirm the current partner rate in your own YouTube account.

People multiply every view by a CPM they saw on social media. That double-counts. CPM applies to monetized playbacks, and the creator does not keep the whole CPM. This page forces those two cuts into the open.

Worked example. 100,000 views, 45% monetized, $6.50 CPM, 55% creator share. Monetized views are 45,000. Gross ads are 45 × $6.50 = $292.50. Your share is $160.88. A post that said "$6.50 per thousand views" would have promised $650. The gap is the whole point of the form.

Country of the viewer moves CPM more than the thumbnail does. A US audience and a mixed audience should not share one CPM. If you do not know yours, run the form twice, at $3 and at $12, and treat the range as the answer.

Memberships, Super Thanks, and brand deals are not in this number. Add them only when you have a contract or a Studio line. Do not add a dream sponsorship to an ad estimate and call it revenue.

This is not tax advice and not a YouTube guarantee. Studio's RPM, after the month closes, beats any calculator.

FAQ

Is CPM the same as RPM?

No. RPM is revenue per thousand views after the share and across all views. CPM is an advertiser rate on monetized views.

Why is monetized percent under 100?

Not every view plays an ad. Music claims, short views, and ad blockers cut the count.

Does YouTube always pay 55%?

Do not assume it. Type the share your partner terms actually use.

Can I estimate Shorts here?

Only as a rough range. Shorts revenue is not the same formula as a long-form mid-roll.

Do you store my channel?

No. Nothing is sent.
