The shop announcement is the most under-used field on Etsy. It sits at the top of your shop homepage, it can be pushed to your followers, and it is the only place you can speak to everyone at once. Sellers leave it blank for months and then wonder why nobody knows about their sale.
This generator writes one from three choices. Pick the occasion — a sale, a restock, a holiday order cut-off, a shop update, a thank-you milestone, or a return from a break — then pick the tone, warm, excited, calm or playful. Add your shop name, the key detail and an optional date or deadline. The generator composes a short announcement with a matching opening and closing line.
Worked example. Occasion "sale", tone "warm", shop "ClayAndCo", detail "20% off with code SPRING20", date "until Sunday 30th March". The holiday cut-off announcement is the highest-value one. Etsy shoppers buy gifts late and blame the seller. Post the cut-off in early November, repeat it in early December, and state the date plainly: "orders placed after 15 December may not arrive in time". This single announcement prevents more disputes than any other sentence you will write.
Specific beats vague, always. "Big sale coming soon" achieves nothing. "20% off with code SPRING20 until Sunday" achieves a sale. The detail field exists because vague announcements train followers to ignore you, and Etsy limits how often you can push them.
Match the tone to the occasion. A warm tone suits a thank-you or a holiday reminder. An excited tone suits a restock or a big sale. A calm tone suits a processing-time change or a shop move. A playful tone suits a small discount or a fun product. Using an excited tone for a delay announcement reads as tone-deaf, and buyers notice.

Keep it under about 400 characters so it survives email previews, and change it at least once a month — a stale announcement is worse than none, because it tells shoppers you are not paying attention.
