How to use
- Fill the fields with numbers you measured or were quoted.
- Click Calculate.
- Change one input and run it again. The interesting answer is the difference.
- If a handbook or a product label disagrees, believe that, not this page.
The 25-times rule is a planning shortcut: a pile equal to 25 years of spending, if you also assume a withdrawal rate around 4%. It is not a law and not a pension.
Worked example. Spending $40,000 and saving $20,000, at a flat 5%, the target is $1,000,000. Change the return to 0% and you see how much of the story was the market, not the savings habit.
Do not type 12% because a video did. A lower number is a harder plan and a more honest one.
