How to use
- Put your name and the client's name. This stays on your machine.
- One line is enough for a small job. Add quantity and rate, not a lump you cannot explain.
- Tax percent is whatever you must charge. Leave 0 if you are not sure, then ask an accountant. This page will not tell you your tax rate.
- Print, or use the browser's save-as-PDF. Email the PDF yourself.
An invoice is a record, not a payment. The page does not connect to a bank. That is deliberate. A tool that asks for a client's card number on a free site is a different product, and this is not that product.
Worked example. 8 hours at $75 is $600. At 0% tax the total is $600. At 10% tax the total is $660. The tax line is your entry. Do not copy a percent from another country because a template had it.
Number invoices in order. INV-104 should mean there was an INV-103. Gaps make a later dispute look sloppy. The page will not remember the last number after you close the tab.
Write a description a stranger could understand. Design work is weak. Homepage revisions, 12 March is a record. The field is yours.
Keep a copy. Printing to PDF and storing it next to the contract is the filing system. We do not keep a copy for you, which is the privacy tradeoff.
